On November 20th , at the Harrisburg State Capitol, members of Keystone United and their supporters attended a “No Refugees Rally.” The rally was held in protest to Governor Wolf and President Obama’s beliefs that Syrian Refugees should continue to be granted access to the United States, and the state of Pennsylvania in particular. Emotions were running high, and a great deal of focus was placed on individual civic duty. Our influence, or lack thereof, at the local, state and federal levels, was also a topic of discussion. While the topics discussed have an air of importance that is incalculable in relation to our nation and our current situation, a sense of national pride permeated the Capitol building today. It was an honor to stand next to my brothers and sisters this afternoon, and others who share the same personal sentiment as myself. As we look in unison towards the future of our nation, unity is the cohesive harbinger of nationalistic longevity and personal progress. We may have a long, and at times seemingly impenetrable, path ahead of us. But if we place that impenetrable path between ourselves and our enemies, WE have the ability to become an impenetrable force. A force to be reckoned with, and one in which our enemies will exercise the greatest apprehension in facing.
