A couple members of Keystone United and supporters hit the streets of Swoyersville, Pennsylvania and had this to say…..
“They should be worrying about the gangs in Wilkes-Barre,” said Steve Smith of Pittston. “Not the KKK in Swoyersville.”
Smith stood away from the crowd with Jesse Clime of Forty Fort and Ryan Wojtowicz of Nanticoke, all members of the white advocacy group, “Keystone United.”
Though they agreed the rally against the racist group Smith called counter-intuitive and outdated was unnecessary, Clime said they chose to attend the event as observers.
“We’re curious as to why people gathered,” he said. “It seems like a scare tactic.”
“It’s a knee-jerk reaction from the mayor,” Smith said. “What’s it going to do? This is a bunch of guys you’ll never see, passing out fliers in the middle of the night.”
